Millions of people all over the world suffer from bad breath problem. Bad breath might happen from time to time with some people; with others it might be permanent. Why? It depends upon the reason of an unpleasant odor.

The major reason for bad breath is bacteria that live in the mouth. Conditions that are in our mount (warmth and moist) are favorable for bacteria reproduction. Some kinds of bad breath are supposed to be a norm. In most cases they aren’t health troubles. The brightest example of this fact is breath in the morning after sleep.

There are other reasons for having bad breath. They can all be reduced to widely spread causes: poor dental hygiene, dry mouth, infections in the mouth, various illnesses and external sources. External sources include eating garlic, onions or drinking coffee and smoking. Such diseases as diabetes, kidney or liver illness and other maladies also affect your breath.

Nowadays it is possible to get rid of bad breath due to personal hygiene and professional help. Personal hygiene embraces brushing teeth and flossing on regular basis (every day), visiting a dentist at least twice a year and drinking a lot of water. There are also additional helpers such as chewing sugar-free gums or special lozenge.
