These days medics and social workers of many countries are extremely worried about the state of mind of rising generation. This worry proceeds from the condition that witnesses a great number of suicide attempts and nervous impairments amongst teenagers the world over. This lamentable condition might be accounted for the feelings of solitude, incomprehension and neglect from the part of adults and peers of the same age. A great number of teens search out solution of the very state in becoming the supporters of diverse youth subcultures like emo, goth, punk and so forth.

You may witness an abundance of complaints from the side of parents and social workers about the noxious impact on the young person's psyche of such subcultures. Medics, quite the opposite, assert that the very youth formations help teenagers to go through difficulties and defiance of everyday life. As a confirmation of this thought let's take emo culture. Notwithstanding the living social opinion that emo young people are aggressive, these boys and girls display as much honor to everyone irrespective of their race or religion. Only to think about courage of emo guys who throw down the gauntlet to the community by emo clothes and look. Emo girls and boys clothes differs from the common way of dressing: both wear gym boots, dark tight jeans with thorny waist-belts, colorful badges and thongs, a dark jacket and a bag over the shoulder. It is not the desire to differ from other people or to state something but just the way of self-expression. Outward appearance of emo young people might as well stir indignation or aversion of average people. Emo boys as well as emo girl color their hair dark, cut it short to the back of the head with a curl that covers half of the face and is colored rosy, have piercing in their ears, brows, cheeks (and some other parts) and make loud make up. Eyes are the mirror of the heart and feelings of emo people that's why they accentuate them with dark pencil and black shadows. There's is nothing bad in such an unusual style of looking and dressing up, medics affirm, as it assists teenagers express themselves unreservedly.

To proceed, emo girls and boys differ not merely in their clothes and outward look but also in the state of mind. Sensitivity and shyness distinguish emo girls from other girls. These girls are also wholehearted and very emotive. Emo boy can be described as rather susceptible and sympathetic. These feelings, however, are very dissimilar things from what ordinary people feel. Acuteness distinguishes the feelings of emo young people and when, for instance, they don't find reciprocal feelings or commendation of people around, they may get into depression. In situations of incomprehension or neglect, medics mention, average teenagers as usual retreat into themselves that at times leads to committing suicides. Emo young people aren't frightened to share their thoughts and problems with each other, they don't conceal their feelings inside. What's so terrible if a young person communicates with his friends who have similar beliefs and opinions? As the final item it is needful to mention that parents and educationalists should not prohibit their children to be apart of any youth subculture or youth formation and give them liberty for self-actualization.
